————————
For the past 25 years I have led the creation of innovative policies, strategies, and programs supporting children, youth, and families globally. My journey into social justice commenced with a BA in History from Yale and continued through an MSW in Clinical Social Work and a JD in International Human Rights from Columbia University.
My roles as a therapist, social worker, and policy maker allow me to navigate and bridge diverse contexts and perspectives, employing a multifaceted approach to complex challenges.
Whether child welfare in New York city, juvenile justice in Rio de Janeiro, post-conflict recovery in Liberia, or Afghan refugee assistance in Pakistan, I have worked with individuals and teams from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds.
I have been recognized with various awards and accolades, including an Aspen Institute Fellowship as part of the American Express Leadership Academy for Nonprofit Leaders.
As a native speaker of Spanish and English with Uruguayan, American, and British citizenships, my professional experiences span over 20 countries across Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, and North America.
uruguayan influence
I feel deeply connected to Uruguay, where I am from and two of the most inspirational people in my life come from: my mother, who dedicated her life to my brother and me, and my grandmother, who taught me to fight for justice.
